Il Cenacolo di Leonardo (The Last Supper)

Eccoci al nostro consueto appuntamento. Per questa puntata Lia e io ci siamo immaginate turiste e abbiamo deciso di andare in visita alla chiesa Santa Maria delle Grazie a Milano. Ci siamo sedute in quello che un tempo fu la mensa dei frati dominicani che ci vivevano. Allora, incantate dell'incredibile opera di Leonardo da Vinci: Il Cenacolo, abbiamo chiamato la nostra amica, senonché esperta d'arte Sabrina. Osservando l'opera Sabrina ci ha svelato dettagli e ci ha raccontato storie poco note.

Here we are for our usual podcast. In this episode we imagined ourselves as tourists, and decided to visit the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. We sat around a table that once belonged to the Dominicans monks of that time. Then, enchanted by the incredible work of Leonardo da Vinci: The Last Supper, we called our friend,  Sabrina, an historian. Sabrina revealed details of Cenacolo and told us little-known stories about this work. We hope it will enchant you as much as it has enchanted us.

Capim Dourado, l’oro vegetale! (Golden Grass)

Per regalarvi delle dorate emozioni vi portiamo nel parco nazionale del Brasile, esattamente nel Tocantins, dove cresce una misteriosa e incredibile pianta chiamata Capim Dourado. Marco, un artigiano dei Castelli Romani, ci porta alla scoperta di questa graminacea che cresce solamente in questa regione del Brasile. Già usato dagli Indios per la produzione di ceste e altri oggetti, oggi con la creatività vengono realizzati gioielli unici ad impatto zero sull'ambiente.

Golden emotions! In this episode we are taking you to one of Brazil's national parks, the Tocantins, where a mysterious and incredible plant called Capim Dourado grows.
Marco, our guest, is a craftsman from Castelli Romani. With him we discover this plant that grows only in this particular region. Already used by the natives for the production of baskets and other objects, today with creativity unique jewels are made with zero impact on the environment.

Candelora and (Groundhog Day)

E così abbiamo scoperto che la Candelora in Italia corrisponde al Groudhog day negli States.
Ci siamo divertite a scoprire le radici di queste bizzarre tradizioni, ma come dice giustamente Lia "di cosa parleremmo se non avessimo queste tradizioni"?
Ovviamente durante la registrazione abbiamo avuto un imprevisto e Daniela è dovuta scappare via, scoprite il perché ascoltandoci. Una puntata da non perdere!

And so we learned that the Candelora in Italy corresponds to Groudhog day in the United States. We had fun discovering the roots of these bizarre traditions, but as Lia rightly says "what would we be talking about if we didn't have these traditions"?
 Obviously during the recording we had an unexpected event occur and Daniela had to run away, find out why by listening!  An episode not to be missed!

With “a good first start” we opened the new year in a big way! In this episode we talk about one of the most important holidays in the United States, Thanksgiving! A beautiful and important word: "Thanksgiving." A day where everything stops and reflects on the many blessings we receive during a year.
