Mercatini di Natale (Christmas Markets)

Che bello il periodo natalizio! Tutto intorno diventa come incantato. Le luci, le campanelle negli angoli e i profumi tipici di dolci natalizi, tutto ci fa venire voglia di essere felici. Abbiamo chiamato il nostro carissimo amico Gianni in Germania che ci racconta cosa accade li nel periodo natalizio. Sappiamo che anche nelle nostre tradizioni c’è molto di tedesco, come ad esempio l’albero, quindi la curiosità è veramente tanta. Come sono questi mercatini di natale? 
Vi consigliamo di prendervi una cioccolata calda e ascoltare queste interessanti abitudini per entrare nell’umore natalizio.

L’archeologa ambientale Laura Motta, Professoressa dell’Università del Michigan, ci racconta della sua passione delle scoperte del passato. Laura ci porta nella magia dei ritrovamenti e dello studio di una ricerca che è stata fatta in Egitto. Non solo resti archeologi tipici, ma addirittura di ritrovamenti biologici. Attraverso la scoperta di alcuni grani dell’epoca greca-romana sta aprendo nuove ipotesi, infatti questo studio specifico ci insegna non solo su quale fosse la dieta degli antichi, ma ci aiuta ad analizzare l’opportunità di uno sviluppo di queste preziose raccolte più ecologiche e quindi a basso impatto ecologico.
La scienza e l’archeologia che attraverso il passato potrebbero aiutarci per un futuro migliore.

Environmental archaeologist Laura Motta, Professor at the University of Michigan, enlighten us about her passion for the discoveries of the past. Laura takes us into the magic of the finds and the study of research that was done in Egypt. Not only typical archaeological remains, but also biological finds. Through the discovery of some grains from the Greek-Roman era, new hypotheses are opening up, in fact this specific study tell us not only about what the diet of the ancients was, but helps us to analyze the opportunity for a development of these precious more ecological collections and therefore with low ecological impact.

L’ italianese: lingua di emigranti. (Language fusion)

Per questa puntata vi consigliamo di avere a disposizione i fazzoletti, perché tra le risate spensierate ci sono altrettanti ricordi melanconici. Vi porteremo a conoscere la vita di un nostro carissimo amico, Franco Iaderosa. Da un piccolissimo paesino dalla provincia di Caserta, Franco, ci racconta il suo viaggio di vita fino agli Stati Uniti. La sua esperienza ci fa sorridere sul quello che lui chiama 'Italianese’. Questo vero e proprio linguaggio è stato creato dagli italo-americani che non conoscendo l’italiano hanno dovuto inventare questo modo di parlare per riuscirsi a capire. Questo accadde in ambiti di lavoro, come il cementese (ambito delle costruzioni) o semplicemente nella quotidianità. Un vero linguaggio che ci fa riflettere su come le necessità abbattono le barriere dell’incomprensione. Allora preparatevi che vi accompagneremo in un tragitto pieno di sorprese.

La nostra cara Lia, dopo la visita al Michigan State Capitol per la sua cerimonia di riconoscimento come donna dell’anno 2022, è rimasta delusa nell’ascoltare una guida turistica che spiegava come quelle bellissime figure che ornano regalmente la cupola erano delle donne tristi. Lia, membro della formata commissione per la pubblicazione delle memorie di Tommaso Juglaris,  ha visto bene di approfondire questo tema di questo sconosciuto artista italiano. Vi raccontiamo la storia e di come solo recentemente queste otto opere d’arte siano state riconosciute a questo artista. Vi racconteremo di cosa rappresentano le otto muse, e l’importanza di riportare alla luce il manoscritto dell’artista per riscoprire la verità storica, culturale, artistica.

Our dear Lia, after visiting the Michigan State Capitol for her recognition ceremony as woman of the year 2022, was dispirited when she heard a tour guide explaining to children how those beautiful figures that royally adorn the dome were sad women. Lia, also member of the commission for the publication of the memoirs of Tommaso Juglaris, has seen fit to deepen this theme of this unknown Italian artist. We tell you the story and how only recently these eight works of art have been recognized. We will tell you what the eight muses represent, and the importance of bringing to light the artist's manuscript to rediscover the historical, cultural and artistic truth.

La nostra cara amica Giovanna Cappi ci ha raccontato la sua storia sul ritornare a lavorare in Italia dopo una vita trascorsa negli Stati Uniti. “Il Pane di Sandro” progetto dell'associazione non profit “Cometa” che lavora con ragazzi con disabilità, e con problematiche. In questa associazione si usa il pane come mezzo di unione, un luogo che vuole essere un’opportunità di rivitalizzare il quartiere un po' abbandonato, appena fuori Como.
Attraverso le loro abilità i ragazzi vengono inseriti in questo posto di lavoro per svolgere varie mansioni. Ci auguriamo che questa puntata vi possa dare delle opportunità di riflessione per incoraggiare il sostegno di queste associazioni. Dani & Lia

Our dear friend Giovanna Cappi returned to Italy after a life spent in the United States. She works for a project called ”Il Pane di Sandro" under a non-profit association "Cometa" that works with children with disabilities. Bread is used as a means of union, a place that wants to be an opportunity to revitalize the somewhat abandoned neighborhood just outside Como.
Through their skills, the kids are placed in this job to perform various tasks.We hope this episode will give you opportunities for reflection to encourage the support of these associations.
